I grew up in Howell, Michigan, and graduated from Howell High School in 2006. I enrolled immediately in Michigan State University, where I commuted to class until I graduated in 2010. After I graduated, I was privileged to continue my work with MSU during a year-long teaching internship at Holt Junior High, where I again fell in love with teaching. I've continued my education with a Masters of Arts in Educational Technology, graduating from MSU in 2015.
I love to read, tinker, and plan. I thrive on creativity and love it when my students surprise me. Professionally, I love watching a student discover a new truth or fall in love with a book. I love to watch them learn how to see past what they thought was previously true, to think critically. Personally, I love to spend time with family-- especially if we're camping, fishing, or touring some new historical site. I love a good story. We are Michiganders to the core! We love canoeing the Au Sable and Mackinac Island is our favorite vacation spot. Touring Fort Mackinac is my favorite site on the island! Imagine all the stories of people long ago! I married my best friend, Joe, in June 2013, and delivered our daughter, Sadie, in February 2015. Our happily ever after is only just begun. |
